Sunset and storm

I’m a bit late with posting about our weekly Wednesday night date.  Doc and I decided to brave the heat and humidity and head back to our favorite little marina eatery.  I walked out on the bock dock to get this photo:

It’s small.  There are about four outdoor tables and four that are under the open-air roof, plus four bar stools.  It sits right on the Anclote River, which empties into the Gulf of Mexico.  It’s in a marina; here’s what sits to the right:

I can’t understand owning something so expensive that just sits in storage most of the time.  Oh, well.  I’ll never be able to afford something that expensive anyway.

While on the bock dock, I noticed a couple of fishermen out in the water.  I am so pleased with how the photos turned out.

The setting sun looked so peaceful out over the Gulf.

As we watched the sun get lower, we heard thunder behind us.  The storms here move pretty quickly, so we decided to head home (just about a 15 minute drive).

The skies looked impressive around our apartment.

Surprisingly, we never got any rain out of that storm, but the thunder and lightning were intense.

Doc has been practicing his trombone this week.  He has a busy weekend ahead: golfing on Saturday, playing in the brass band at three of the four services at our home church this weekend (Saturday night and Sunday morning) and teaching Sunday school.  I feel as if I’m just along for the ride!  Actually, I’ll spend Saturday cleaning the house, and then after church on Sunday, we’re taking our son out to lunch.

Spooky the Cat should be fine.  She seems to have mastered the TV remote control.  She really likes the “Tom and Jerry” cartoons.

Have a great weekend!
