The search stats in my blog show that a lot of people are looking for updates on the wildfires that are currently burning in Florida. I had an old post last year that is turning up in search engines. To satisfy those who are searching for information, particularly for the locations of these fires, this map is from the Florida Division of Forestry. It shows the location of wildfires of over 100 acres in size. A good source for continually updating information is here.
Yes, it looks like the entire state is burning.
No, it isn’t.
However, the smoke is pretty pervasive, so much of the state is affected. Many families have lost their homes, and many other homes have been damaged. Please keep these families and the firefighters in your prayers.

I saw some coverage of the fires on the news. Awful!

It seems to be this way every year now. I can remember I don’t know how many springs where S. Ga and FL burn. I feel for those who have asthma and problems with the smoke.
Maybe we can get more relief from the drought. I pray that we can.

As we head out to Gainesville this morning I already have my daughter’s albuterol and her nebulizer packed.

I don’t watch news so I didn’t know about FL wildfires. I know that when SoCal burns people assume it’s always in my backyard. I may not even know there’s a fire.
I hope we all get enough rain this year so we don’t have the fires again.
